Cape Town is one of the most beautiful city in the world. No doubt about it. As the residence of Cape Town, hubby and I love staying in accommodation in city center. Seeing Cape Town with tourists eyes. Walking the routes that we usually drive pass fast catching our next appointments etc.
Last week we stayed in the restored historic buildings turned into an apartment hotel, Mandela Rhodes Place. The location is within walking distance to many tourist attractions and eateries, very central.
Our unit was in the seventh floor. The apartment was beautiful, spacious clean with quality (and full) amenities and equipment. Upon arrival, bottles of Appetizer and snack was waiting for us with a welcome note.
I am impressed with the kitchen which equipped with anything you need for comfy cooking and entertainment. The fact that there are plenty of storage throughout the unit was also a plus. So that is no reason to clutter the unit, as I could put all our belongings tidily in many of the cupboards there. The unit equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer. I would imagine it’s very convenient for longer term guests. Apparently each unit has different layout and furnishings although I am sure they are all of the same high standards. The “always on” wifi was on throughout the hotel lobby and common area. However there was problem with connection in our unit, unfortunately. I am sure that it would be sort it out as they were aware of it.
We love waking up to the contrast of Table Mountain and high rise buildings in the city. The city is surprisingly quite and serene in the morning. While the buzzing of afternoon in the city excites me too.
There are couple of eateries in the building, such as Doppio Zero and Motherland Coffee. Some halaal eateries are within walking distance too. The breakfast served in Doppio Zero every morning. There are complimentary parking in the building for guests.
As the hotel is located in Wale Street. As soon as you exit the hotel building, you are right by the St Georges, the Company’s Garden. Long Street and Green Market Square. My girl and I even visited The Planetarium twice within the two nights we stayed. My hubby enjoyed going the mosques in the area. Not to mention we were a stone throw away from Bo Kaap.
We will be back 🙂
