For those who plan a trip to Port Elizabeth, you are spoiled for choice for halaal eateries. On our Dec Road trip, we stayed overnight in PE, I wish that we stayed longer as we had all fully halaal eateries, one of them was Taj Mahal in Bay West Mall. In fact, many eateries in the food court area in Bay West Mall if it not all, are halaal. I can’t really confirm if all of them in food court are halaal now as I am now back in Cape Town 🙂
Anyway, the Taj Mahal is a straight forward in decoration. The service was fast though and take-away is welcomed.
The food was delicious, thoroughly enjoyed our food. Especially after spending a night in Jeffrey’s Bay and lived on KFC and MCD as no halal food is to be found in Jeffrey’s Bay!
Taj Mahal run some specials or packages daily. The food are varied from curries to sizzler to grill to bunny chow to burger to schwarma to pizza. The meal starts from R49 (for 12 samoosa) to R229 for 1 kg Grilled Prawn with rice.
Soft drinks, Bombay Crush (R38), Milkshake (R33) and Crushers (R35) are on the list too.
So next time you are in PE, try this eatery, you won’t be dissappointed.
